About Us

Welcome to Gameroom Reviews! We’re your go-to source to the best reviews and recommendations of all things recreation. Whether you’re a table tennis aficionado, an avid pool player, or looking to dabble everything, we’ve got you covered. Our team of passionate players is always on the lookout for the best new gear to recommend, comparing the latest products to our past favorites and current standbys.

What Makes Us Special?

We’re a site run by players, for players. It’s hard to find decent reviews of gameroom gear these days, what with so many influencers and paid reviewers out there. We don’t have any tie-ins or relationships with brands or manufacturers. That gives us the freedom to be completely objective in our reviews. We simply recommend the best gear we find, period. You can always trust us to be impartial and to approach all our reviews as players, first and foremost.

Unlike a lot of other review sites you’ll come across, we don’t just list features and plug products. That’s not helpful, and that’s not a real review! What we do is give you an informed perspective on every piece of equipment we feature. Sure, we’ll talk about the key features, but we’ll also give you a sense of how each table, racquet, or ball actually feels to use. We’ll give you the low-down on the competition, explaining why we think the model we recommend is better. If there’s something we want to see improved in a future model, we’ll let you know about that, too.

How We Review Gear

Our team looks at a whole range of factors when we’re reviewing a piece of equipment. Of course, there are different things to consider when you’re reviewing a pool table compared to a ping pong ball. Regardless of what we’re reviewing, though, we always keep these three factors in mind:

Value: buying high-quality recreational equipment can get expensive in a hurry. There’s also a lot of risk involved for casual buyers, since it’s hard to know which brands actually make high-end gear and which are selling overpriced knock-offs. We take care to recommend models that provide real value for money. We don’t like paying extra for brand logos, and we know you don’t either. We also hate buying an expensive table only to find that it needs lots of additional accessories to work properly. We’ll help you steer clear of that as well. We also take care to explain in our buying guides how much a casual player should spend, as opposed to someone who’s getting serious about their game.

Durability: if you’re buying a piece of equipment, you want it to last. It’s as simple as that! We don’t think there’s any point buying something spiffy with flashy features if it wears out or warps in a matter of weeks. With every product we recommend, we make sure we’ve done our homework to check for any reported issues from folks who have owned theirs long-term. If we notice that a certain component is a bit rickety, we’ll tell you about it.

User-friendliness: the whole point of playing games is to get together with friends and have a good time. Using your pool table or air hockey setup shouldn’t be a pain. While there’s always a learning curve when you start out with a new game, it shouldn’t come from your equipment. Your gear should be simple, intuitive, and user-friendly. That’s very important to us when we choose products to recommend.
